Does any of R52/R53 owner receive the letter from MINI USA which is talking about the engine oil leakage?

I have 2005 R52 Cooper S, and I remember that I've got a letter from MINI USA around the summer '08, but I lost it.

If anyone still has that letter, can you please send me an electric copy?

Or if I misread that letter, please let me know what you got from MINI USA around the summer '08.

I think the letter you're referring to pertained to oxygen sensors. They extended the warranty to 7 years, 100K miles, iirc.

I haven't received any correspondence re oil leaks. (I also have an 05 MCS.)

BTW, you're supposed to keep all this stuff in a file!

 

Same here.....nothing about an oil leak.

I remember the oxygen sensors one and thought another one for engine oil....

Since the engine oil running fast after odd meter hits 70k miles, the letter about the engine oil leakage might be my midsummer night's dream.

 

I have an 05' r53 "s"....I got the o2 letter...no oil leak letter....and I am on their mailing list still...same address, and they recently sent me an address update card just in case I had sold my car.....

 

Yes R52 and R53s have a problem with the oil pan gasket failing. I don't know if it was recalled but it is an issue that they found out after MINI discontinued making them. Take to the dealership and see what they can do for you.

 

While changing my oil lasts weekend, I noticed that there was a build up around my oil pan gasket. I have never seen any oil on the floor of the garage, so I guess it's not dripping yet, maybe weeping

Has anyone had success with this issue once out of warantee.
