Just do not Modify your car.

All of the genuine Mini Warranty's are OK as long as you do "NOT"
modify your car. I can't tell you about any other company's offers.

As long as you leave your car Factory stock you really can't go wrong with the Genuine Mini Warrenty.

That seems like a lot to me.
The only extended anything I have ever gotten on a car is was 100k/6yr on our Honda Ody, which only cost $735. This was in 02 when Honda dealers were selling the Honda Care over the net for as little as $25 over their cost.
Yes, the entire mini warranty package was a lot, but it is much more comprehensive than Honda care. The mini warranty covers my clutch, turbo, tires, wheels, scheduled maint, etc.

I kept my previous vehicle for 8 years and I plan on keeping the mini for at least that long. The nearest mini dealership/service center is 3 hours from my location.

7 yr / 70k Platinum ($100 ded) $1733
6 yr / 100k mini maint. $1395
5 yr. Tire and wheel $999
Window etching $150
Yep, that's pretty ridiculous!

Good point on covering more but the 3 hours away could be an issue. I live about 90 mins from any MINI dealer and that has caused me to find lower priced closer options.

Sounds like you are good with the purchase so what I or anyone else thinks does not matter.
Enjoy your MINI.

Devisemanager "read the warrenty"

The Maintenance warranty will cover the clutch if it wears out. Not if it is driver abuse such as glazing or burning it up do to slipping Etc.

The Bumper to Bumper extended warranty excludes the clutch. "Period"

I did buy the maintenance six year warranty but I do not really expect to wear out my clutch in six years. If I decide to keep my JCW after four years I will purchase the extended bumper to bumper even though I know the clutch will be on me if I wear it out.

My 1988 Suzuki Samurai has 260,000 miles on my original clutch. It is starting to slip a little so I will probably have to replace it soon.

The next time you go to your dealer ask for the pamphlet on the full extended warranty.

AAA Costs more then the genuine Mini Warrenty

I E-Mailed AAA to see what it would cost. My car is a 2009 Factory JCW with 15,500 miles. Way to steep for me.

------$4,180.00 Dollars

------$100.00 Deductable

-----72 Months or 100,000 miles

-----Would expire 2016

a 2009 MINI Subtotal: $4180.00 COOPER S Tax: 0.00 Current odometer reading: 15,500 Total: 4180.00 VIN: * $ Down: 378.00 # Payments: 18 Monthly Payment: 211.22

Coverage Plan 100,000 miles </B>Royal New Oem Exclusionary Coverage Expires: 10/06/2016</B></B> 100,000 Deductible:$ 100

Omg!

You have got to be kidding! Very funny. I am off to find a mechanic (@$50/hr.) who can swap in new transmissions, engines and performance parts for OE as they fail...seems like it might be way cheaper???

Nope, Not kidding. $4,180.00 for $100.00 deductable. Now when you think that it takes over only after the factory four year warrenty is up it covers only two years. That is "ONLY" $2,090 per year. -or- $5.73 a day per year-or-.24 cents an hour. At least there is no interest on the payment plan.

I now think the Mini USA factory plan is a bargin at $3,300.00 for seven years/100,000 miles at $50.00 deductable.

ronnie948, I though my plan was expensive. Mine is 5/60K for $4,080, and it started right when my 4/50K original plan ended.

AAA expires too on a certain date

I think it goes by the date you sign up. The AAA plan would have expired on
10/06/2016.

I did not purchase it. It was ridiculous costly $4,180.00 @ $100.00 deductable for two extended years or 100,000 miles.

-------------I may be dumb but I'm not "STUPID"-------------------

$4,180 will pay for a couple or more of major breakdowns unless I blow up the whole engine or something. I guess there are people out there that will pay it. """NOT ME"""

Yeah, two years is way too short. I was initially not going to buy the extended contract. However, just 200 miles before my 4/50K warranty ran out, my MINI developed electrical problems. I had water in my battery box. The battery wires, as well as the 250A main fuse, had to be replaced. I can deal with the mechanical problems; I still have my old '02 MCS for spare parts (totalled). But I don't want to have to sweat finicky electrical problems.
