Gear Shift light?

Have a 2009 Clubman automatic and noticed that the "P" in the gear shift stays illuminated when the car is turned off. Is this normal?

I'm guessing no one has told you that you need to get your Pillow, Blankey, and Teddy Bear...sleep in your car overnight and see how long it takes for the P on your Shift Selector to go OFF??!!

BTW...Welcome to the NAMily!!

It does go off and it is normal for it to stay on. Once off (not sure of the time delay), it will turn on again when you unlock the car.

There is a 'timed' (about :20 minutes) buss for some accessories, like boot light etc. and 'P' light stays on until time-out.

If you press your volume control, after car is shut off, your Radio/CD will play until 'time-out' as well.
