My car is showing up on the tracking of wallenius willhelmson today- it shows that it was booked back on August 10th , arrived at the docks on Saturday the 29th. It'll be so great to finally meet our cars, won't it?

UNDINE due to dock in New Jersey in about 30 minutes!! The Elektra doesn't show itself due to dock on the 10th at all??? Maybe it takes some magic to get itself on this site? Any knowledge anyone?

It's docked! And the ship is Mellow Yellow as my MINI!
I was going home from work this morning by light rail ( I work in the City) and momentarily saw Undine docked. Didn't have enough time to snap a picture the light rail literally flew overpass...

 

Why don't I see Minis getting off the Undine in NY on the WW tracking site?

 

The Undine is white and green.

 

It does have the classic Mini contrasting top.

I think all of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ro-Ro ships are green and white.

 

Yes I see WW green monsters by Newark Airport pretty often, my house is by the park across the Bay. But VDC is on Hudson Side and I swear there was a cargo ship the size of WW. Oh well mistakes happen. There was a mile distance or so...

Anyway I got a message from Mini of Manhattan that car will be available on Saturday Sept 12th and that's good news!

 

Right now the Undine is parked close to Newark Airport. On the satellite map, I can only see containers there.

 

Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but....

Yeah, I think that's the problem. The Undine is (currently) still docked on the Newark Bay side (I don't think the place the earlier pic of the car carrier in NY was taken) in the "Port Newark Channel", pretty much where "Interstate 78" meets 95 (i.e. at the east side of the Newark Bay Bridge, between Newark Airport and the Newark Bay).

Maybe you saw THIS boat, which WAS parked on the Hudson side of the Bayonne "Military Ocean Terminal" until about 2 1/2 hours ago, and is now steaming away:

It would have been right out the window due east of you if you were at the 45th street station of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail....

The Undine is on the other side, across Newark Bay.

Very interesting. This confirms what the lady at Wallenius Wilhelmsen told me - the Porgy was built this year and is presently on her maiden voyage. Our MINIs are the first ones she will deliver to Port Hueneme. I wonder if the crew is serving champaign?
