suspected unstoppable power steering pump/fan problem; dealer proposes to charge me $150 to sniff the car, and then potentially to charge you-know-how-much for pump replacement - I will sooner be disconnecting the battery each time I park than putting this kind of money into this veritable junk -hence are there independent shops which have done the pump replacement at least once on a Mini (the typical shop guys here don't even know the P/S architecture of MC...oh, it is 'lectric??? :-)), and wouldn't mind using rebuilt/aftermarket stuff?
