Need product recommendation

So lowering the Mini(frankly I've not lowered it too much yet, there's still some wheel gap) has made my hydraulic jack pretty much useless. I cannot perform the 2 x 4 trick to put all 4 sides on jack stands. So my question is, is there a low profile portable hydraulic jack that is low enough for the most dropped Mini? Mine's a Clubman and will only be lowered until there's no wheel gap(I'm not tucking tires)

I have no idea what you're using now... I use the Harbor Freight "race jack" and it goes pretty low... 3"

Northern Tool also has some stuff:

Blimey: Neither are portable though. I busted the flimsy OEM jack when it fell out of the boot. Cannot believe it broke that easily. Now it won't drop down to the flattest setting. So I'm trying to get one I can easily bring around and yet still lift about 2k pounds.

Sorry - missed the word "portable" in your post... though lots of folks take that HF jack in their MINI to track days, etc... so it's somewhat portable...

What makes a jack portable exactly?

I got something like this one: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00950165000P? from Sears, it comes in a carrying case. If I get serious and need to take it with me, I'm thinking it'll fit behind the passenger seat.

Edit: Actually its this one: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00950523000P? this one shows the carry case. I'm not sure how low it goes, how low does it need to be?
