There are plates rubbing against eachtother in it, no gears (see picture).

The MINI LSD is often referred to as a Mickey Mouse LSD by people I know and drive with on the Nurburgring. It doesn't last long there. I know someone who had his LSD replaced three times.

If I remember correctly you have to put the LSD on a sugar cube first

So Mini Cooper doesn't offer the Quaife LSD?

No, quaife is an aftermarket company. I'm betting their diffs are too race oriented, or rough, to be put in a bmw product anyway.

From what 2BeeMini2 says the factory LSD isn't too good. So how does the DTC and EDLC work? Would they be better? I'm interested in getting a Mini Clubman S and wondered if that feature would be worth it?
