Krut- I sent an e-mail to the Keeler Sales Manager and placed 2 calls asking for resolution. Efforts to contact the General Manager were also unsuccessful. In addition to laughing at my specs, the MA offered to order me a new car (after his screw-up), but gave me a guilt trip. I should have taken it further, but was exhausted with all the B.S. I'm thankful that I found a great MA to turn my bad experience into a great one!

His lack of knowledge was amazing. I was a complete newb (still am a newb) and I knew more about the Mini than he did.

Chowdah:

What was the screw-up? Sounds like you ordered a car, it got screwed up, then you went to a different dealer? What a nightmare?

Top 10 out of 81 MINI dealers?
Let us not forget that even the worst salesperson in a market without competition will still rank high.
Take your business else where then file a formal complaint against this ****.
MINIUSA will send you a survey after your purchase and you can take this opportunity to voice your
displeasure with the other dealership and explain how you had to travel to another state just to avoid doing business with them.

So, I sent an email to a different MA at Keeler and didn't get a response, so I emailed Steve at Westchester MINI and got very quick response. He also had already to called MINI USA to get an answer to a question I posed in my email. Very efficient and friendly. So we chatted and I ended up ordering my MINI from him over the phone! So, thanks to everyone for the advice--especially chowdah for suggesting Steve. I couldn't be happier. Of course, I'll have to drive 7 hours to get my MINI, but that means I get to drive my MINI for 7 hours right after I pick it up!

Hey you may have hit on an excellent idea for all future MINI owners.
Buy your MINI in another state so that you will get to know it better on your first drive home.

Let us know when you take delivery and how that drive home felt like it wasn't long enough.

I went from WNY to Long Island within two weeks of taking delivery; kind of the same thing 'backwards'. tedscar and I got very familiar with each other and I think we "bonded" .

I'm sure that ride will do you both good Romo!

I would kick him in his ZUG! ball. And then order my MINI anyway.

Woo Hoo Romo! I'm so GLAD you called Steve ... he's the best and now you have a redeemed Mini experience like me! (To answer your question in another post; Yes, we had ordered a Mini from that Keeler MA; he screwed up the order; lied about it; tried to blame everyone else; gave us a guilt trip, so my hubby had some colorful words with him.) CONGRATS and keep us updated with your Mini's progress across the ocean! Can't wait to see pics!

Krut,

Sorry to go OT but we bought our MINI's at your store from Ahmed. He didn't leave did he? He is a great guy. Very patient and helpful.

Nope he's still here - he sits right next to me.

Glad to hear that.

Did anyone leave or did they just add another MA?

I have bought 3 Minis from Keeler, and will only deal with Andrea. She is the best. I don't know which of the 2 male MA's you're talking about, but it doesn't matter as they are BOTH a-holes!!! I once asked one of them (most likely the one you are talking about) if I could take a test drive and he said he had too much paperwork to catch up on. Most recently I was sitting in Andrea's office waiting to take delivery of my newest Mini, and the two male MA's were out on the floor laughing with each other and mocking customers who were calling to ask when their cars would be in. A real class act, both of them. Sorry you had to go to another dealer, but to anyone else who is considering Keeler, ONLY GO TO ANDREA!!

(It was like he was offended because I wanted a JCW) When I asked him about NAM, he blasted the site saying that the people posting had way too much time to waste. Please choose another MA or dealership so you won't have a bad Mini experience!
Your MA disapproved of your selection of a JCW? (!) Is his commission inversely proportional to the purchase price of the car? He doesn't sound like a jerk, he sounds like an idiot!

My suggestion is to make sure your MA actually drives a MINI. Do the 2 jerks at Keeler own and drive MINIs? I suspect not.

Hmm, he pointed out he was in the top ten in the country. Buy him a cookie, but buy your car from someone else. You're gonna spend a fair amount of money. And I sure wouldn't do that with someone I don't like. Hell, if he's a jerk before he gets your money, how helpful will he be when he after they HAVE your money. If you lik ethe dealership as a whole I would purposely buy from them but a different MA. Make sure you say hi to the jerk as you drive off. That should make his day.

And if MINI of Sterling weren't so far away, I'd suggest them too. I've heard good things about them too.
