Mini recommends the brake fluid to be flushed every two years. It is included in the service plan. However, when I took my daughter's 2005 R50 in to Mini of Peabody in July, 2007 for Inspection I, they did not flush the brake fluid. The car was purchased in the summer of 2005, I think it was in July, so it was two years old plus or minus.

I called them today to confirm that they didn't flush it. Since I'm a couple hours from the dealership, I'm going to just do it myself. The service indicator says 9400 miles, so I won't need to take it in any time soon. I do oil changes between visits.

Don't assume that they'll perform this service without asking.

 

I always bring a list of what's to be done and hand it off to the Service Manager.

The Mini Owner's Lounge has service schedules up thru 2006 under "My Mini".
Nothing later, however.
