Prices of MC and MCS in other countries - wow!

While being bored I've priced my car on the UK site. All I can say is I am glad I am paying US prices. My 28.6K configuration is about 41K with VAT on the UK site.

I also had done Canada a while back and recall it was at least 5K or more higher.

On a separate note, the UK government mileage ratings converted to US measurements (imperial gallon to US gallon) show MCS highway mileage of 45 mpg. I wonder what the US pollution controls do to knock the mileage down so much. See http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/sea...s.asp?id=19795, and 1 imperial gallon is approximately equal to 1.201 U.S. gallons.

as far as European MPG I was always told its there as Jeremy Clarkson puts it "super fuel" aka higher octane?

now I dont know if this is correct or not but I thought I would throw it out there

Prices in the UK have always been high, also cars prices in the US have been bloody cheap. Currently the exchange rate is pretty high, though dropping at the moment. The exchange rate always makes comparisons like that difficult.

In Mexico a new MINI can set you back easily US$50K-$60K. Yes we have it good when it comes to car prices here in the US, for as long as it lasts.

What most people fail to realize is that the MINI is an uber luxury item in most parts of the world.
