R53 JCW CHALLENGE available in USA??

I never knew R53 JCW Challenge were for sale in the US.

Since I am not going to get any commission on the sale, I will not disclose the seller's info or asking price, rather, I posted the details below.

Are these really the aftermarket parts installed on a R53 Challenge or did the owner install some of the mods himself? If this is what you get on a MINI Challenge, what a great buy!!! hmmm...I think I hear the R56 2009 MINI Challenge calling my name.

This is impossible. JCW Challenge cars were never on sale in the USA. If this is a real car, it had to be imported, which I highly doubt.

Who has it for sale???????? I would like to chat with them about the car.

Please share.

You have PM.

My thoughts exactly! And even if he imported the Challenge to US, transportation dept. will not register the Challenge for street use. My friend has a Nissan Skyline R34. His R34 is not allowed to be driven on public roads (although he has driven it around town couple of times) , DMW only gave him paperwork for track use and display only. Second, he is not able to get car insurance as well.

Please keep us posted if this Challenge is actually in US.

I'm really glad I did not give the seller the benefit of posting his for sale ad (contact info.) on NAM.

Two NAM members (so far) confirmed it is a scam, the R53 Challenge he has for sale is NOT a CHALLENGE MINI.

This car is a nice looking MINI, but far, far away from an 05 UK JCW Challenge car.

* Not LHD
* sunroof never allowed in Challenge series
* no cage, nor required series equipment
* interior a street car's garb - nice chrono pak & chrome line interior - hardly appropriate for a real life JCW Challenge car.
* says never raced - that's what Challenge cars are for
* mechanical equipment wrong or missing
* wrong exterior, wrong interior - no race stuff, forget it!

False advertising! Some nerve this seller has! get the vin# and I'll track the history of this baby! It may have been assembled in Oxford, but it left those happy shores shortly thereafter.

This guy is looking for a stupid sucker who doesn't know squat about what a JCW Challenge car is.

Big time hoax, seller is full of brown matter, seller should be water boarded.
Every single item mentioned in ad, is NOT Challenge Spec legal.
Although, heard of one in Kansas and Grassroots Motorsports has one. German Spec may be LHD. Seen several in racecarsdirect.com for about $22K for 02s and $48K for 06 race cars. Of course the nasty problem of getting them here.
