I am honestly curious as to what are the aspects that you find the 135i and R56 completely different on. (Since I don't know, not trying to flame, just curious).

I have not yet driven a R56, but have driven five different R53's in various states of modification, from auto stock, stock manual, modified manual, all S versions. I have not yet driven a highly modified Mini.

I'd been considering a G37, 135i, TL Type-S and other pricey rides. However, gas mileage, insurance, cost, and other factors led me to the MINI. Also, if you add on some options to both, a fully equipped 135i will jump the cost almost $10k. Lame.

Enjoy your MINI and your money!
