This little monstrosity was pictured on RoadandTrack.com as part of a Chinese car clones feature. At least there's probably a shorter waiting list.

Plus, considering that's from China, the model is probably dead from the lead paint and antifreeze

Reminds me of those "Keepin' It Real Fake" iPhones you see on Engadget seemingly once a week.

 

That is the chinese made Lifan 320
a four door plus hatchback sub compact that seats 5 people
with 1.3 liter engine (87 HP- Don't believe that!)

Sure it has styling cues from the MINI (how original) like:
Center oval black grille with round large headlights
Black roof and side mirrors
X-lyte like wheelcovers over steel wheels
Dual racing stripes
Race numbers on the doors

But it's more along the lines of any 5 seat small car like the Nissan versa, Toyota matrix, or Honda Fit.



From these angles you can see the car rides very high off the ground and is quite a bit larger than the clubman so don't expect nimble handling and with the larger size comes weight and less power from the smaller engine.


I'd think the styling is a ripoff (especially the boot!) and the ride is barely acceptible but for the chinese market I don't think they care at all.

Well, at least the Chinese are adept at seeing what's hot... Anyway, I've been to China - the next best thing they really had to these knock-offs were bikes. And their bike-highways rivaled some of our MOTOR highways!

 

i hate companies that have to try and imitate something. Why can't they just design a car for themselves?

Do you think they build it and then stand around feeling proud of themselves? because that would really make me sick.
