MINI props and a Hummer owner.

The LA Times has been running an interesting series on general driving habits/problems in LA this week. One of the related blogs today has a story about a Hummer owner who doesn't like Prius drivers much, but has praise for MINI drivers:

He did have one other beef: Prius drivers. "They won't let me on the freeway -- they cut you off," he said. Not a problem he has, say, with Mini owners.
I realize I'm paraphrasing the blogger here, but still. Interesting read nonetheless.

Bikers like us too!

I don't know any Hummer owners, but this past week, we were driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC. At one stop where there were alot of upper-class Bikers parked, my husband stayed behind as I got in and drove up the road (So that he could get a photo of the mini coming down the road) The Bikers didn't know he also was the owner of the mini that just pulled out. He overheard them comment that "Now, that's a cool car"--"If I hadn't bought a bike that's the car I'd drive!"

I've been enjoying the LA Times driving habits articles as well. This one was posted yesterday and it totally cracked me up. I hope that the "salesman" really isn't this dumb in real life..

So what does Morales say if he's asked about mileage?

"I just tell them 'Don't worry about it,' " he said, adding that it's a low-maintenance vehicle, so they'll save in the long run.
And what if someone asked him about the vehicle's impact on global warming?

"I'd just ask them how much longer they're going to be living."
And my favorite..
"If you get into an accident, nothing will happen to you," he said. "You'll just kill the other person."
You can read the rest of the article here: http://www.latimes.com/news/columnis...04,full.column
