Give me some ideas.... The price is right....

Okay, here's the deal. I traded in my '06 cabrio for an '08 Laser Blue coupe. The dealer wanted the black spoke wheels that were on it so the deal I made was I wanted the web spoke wheels in exchange.

The dealer didn't have any in stock and wrote an "we owe" stating that when a set comes in, I can exchange the crown spokes on my car for them for free.

The car is laser blue with a white roof, white mirror caps and white stripes. The crown spokes are really starting to grow on me and I'm thinking I may want to powdercoat them white.

Since the dealer owes me a set of web spoke wheels and according to them, placed a $750.00 price tag on them, I'm thinking of telling him I'll keep the crown spokes and have the dealer trade me something equivalent to the $750.00 the wheels are valued at.

I realize that the dealer was going to give me a set of "take-offs" when someone else upgraded their wheels but no matter how you look at it, the dealer is giving up $750.00 worth of something.... cause they could have simply sold them to the next customer.

So, any suggestions on what to ask for? I was going to get the roof rack that it had on the showroom floor but I bought a hitch with a tray in the meantime.

Any thoughts? Feel like I'm playing "the price is right"... lol.

Thanks,

Mark

How about the driving lamps that get mounted on the grille, and a rear spoiler; that should bring it close to the $750.

Of course, the dealer could always say "tire exchange or nothing" and keep the web spoke wheels in stock.

Happy bargaining.

Man, did you hit that one on the head. I stopped in this morning and they basically said nope. It was already figured in the deal so it was the deal or nothing...

That's cool. I was just playing around with different ideas.

Bummer on the no deal front.
Well, you got some practice playing with ideas. That's always a plus.
