Recollections of them from the 1960's -- Monte Carlo Rally, Union Jack roofs, George Harrison's...

Interested in an S, but my eco-conscience couldn't live with 18 mpg rating I read somewhere for the 1st Generation BMW MINIs.

My Integra was 18 years old when the R56 came out, and the S had more power and good gas mileage.

Test drove one and loved it. Forced myself to test drive a GTI, S2000, and Integra R, but none were as much fun as the MCS.

I wanted one for the specs and the community, then test drove one (In Auto actually) and ordered one 15 minutes later. Ordered it before I could even drive stick and my MA taught me

About 2 years ago I chased a blue Mini S through Deal's Gap on my bike. Any car that makes you WORK to stay with them on an R1 is a car I have to have

Went to buy my daughter a new car recently and we settled on a MINI cause she thought they were cute. My wife came by to sign papers and she really thought they were cool cars. Happened to have a 2010S auto trans Camden on the lot and she drove it. Wow, just like a go kart and it runs great. We took it home a few days later. By the way we had been looking at Hummer H3 Alphas for her. What a change. Now two MINIs in the family

I have always grown up racing, mostly drag racing, so have owned my share of muscle cars. Recently got a Honda B16 DelSol to try autocross and also have a Toyota MR2 Spyder for same reason. Sold DelSol and kept Toyota, but now its for sale. I simply cannot get over how fun the MINIs are to drive. I am now more interested in overall car handling than straight line acceleration. Looking at a MC40 cooper tomorrow with John Cooper Works package..Could be a really fun ride...Daily driver is a Scion XB

My wife had been wanting one for a couple years but the closest dealer was too far away and I was convinced the repair cost would be far greater being a BMW product.......skip ahead 2 years.....in Jan of this year I was trolling around on Ebay and came across a MCS Cabrio for sale in OK City at a Toyota dealership. It had 3700 miles on it. Had to bid on it just as a joke....bid so low I knew I wouldnt get it. Auction ended without a winner. On a whim, I called to find out what reserve was. They only wanted $23900.....sticker ($34200)was in glovebox....the original owner had bought it new 4 months before and it still had tags and plastic protection stickers inside like it was still on lot. Anyway, the dealer sold it to me on the phone for reserve. Bank said it was worth $29000. It has been an awesome little car. Wife grins from ear to ear every time she jumps in. Never had so many people ask about this car as compared to the other 27 vehicles I have owned.
P.s. 2 months later I went and bought an used 04 MCS for myself. So far they have been flawless!

I'd always liked Minis and was curious about them. At one point I even went by a mini dealership just to look at them even though I wasn't looking to buy a car at the time.

Anyway, before I got the Mini, I was driving a saturn sky redline and once saturn went out of business, I almost immediately started shopping for a new car. I was on the fence between a Mini, a Honda Fit, and a Hyundai Veloster. I went with the Mini because it was available as a convertible. If it would have only been available as a hardtop, I probably would have gone with the Hyundai. But, I wanted a convertible and the Mini fit everything that I was looking for. Been loving it ever since I bought it! Can't wait to take it on a long road trip.

My brother bought himself an 02 MCS, and we talked about the way it handled. I thought it would be fun also, and picked up an 03 MCS. I modded the hell out of it and thought an 80 Austin Mini rhd would be fun so I picked one of those up too.

Move on to losing job and income, so cars went goodby and back to job hunting. Fast forward two years, and the wife wanted a different car. That started my trend again with an 05 justa cabrio. I got jealous, so I picked up an 07 MCS. Well, the daughter turned 17 and the aveo she had just would not cut it.

We found a pepper white 07 MCS auto cabrio for my wife, gave our daughter the 05 justa, and I have My 07 Mellow Yellow MCS. We are now a happy three MINI family. Will be looking at a AWD countryman after a couple model years. We love our MINIs By the way, don't drink a couple of beers next door to a Hendrick dealer and let your wife drive home. You might end up making a quick stop and buying a car.

I have to admit it was my wife. She test drove a hardtop 4 years ago and had only one complaint it was too small for her. We are now in the market for a new car and when we saw the CM on display at the Moorestown Mall she said let's go for a test drive. Well we did and we will be ordering ours LC BRM as soon as my settlement arrives. (soon, I hope!!!!) I love this car it offers me everything that I want.

About 5 years ago I decided to get a newish vehicle. I loved the look of the mini, but couldn't afford one,. So I bought a jeep wrangler. Very fun, convertible, had the cool factor I was looking for. But it was by no means a road car. Offroad, it was unstoppable, but on the road, it was a brick with nice tires. So when the jeep was getting tired, I started looking at cars again. Gas being what it was, and is, I was torn between a VW GTI or a MINI Cooper S. Then I remembered how much I had wanted a MINI. And now I have one. The MINI community was just an added bonus

$1500.00 price tag (needed some TLC) and the stellar road grip.

I have always like the shape and style of the MINI!!!

Went on a whim to the dealer to check them out. The salesman had me sit in the driver's seat and gave a full description of everything inside. Afterwards, he gave me another detailed walk thru on the outside.

This was on the Clubman, I kept eyeballing a certain model in the corner of the dealer ship show room.

He took me for a test drive on a MINI Cooper S. I was blown away by how it handled. He pushed it harder than I could ever dream of on a test drive.

After we got back, I asked about that other MINI, turns out to be a JCW.

Sat in it, and knew it was for me. Took home the brochures and researched this John Cooper Works MINI. I was hooked.

Few weeks later, I'm back ready to order one. He tells me a Chili Red JCW is already on the ship making it's way to Hawaii.

I called DIB's!! So let it be written, so let it be done. The JCW MINI was mine.

This car makes me happy every time I look at it,drive it, wash it or mod it.

The huge speedometer is classic!! I love this car!!!

i got my mini because all my favorite cars were rear wheel drive. there is like no other car on planet that combines the compact size, fuel economy, performance of a sports car. i went to get mine back in october 2010 and was sold. it's the only car where you can customize it the way you want. the supercharger whine is sweet, even more awesome with a cai. best car i've owned so far.

As a kid, my dad had a friend who raced a Mini in SCCA GT5 class road races, and I got to watch and help a little on occasion. I always loved Minis and when MINIs came out, I really wanted one. It took a few years before I could buy one, but I love every second of it. Such a fun car and the new ones are Lucas free. (family also had MGB, TR3, and TR7...no more Lucas)...

Well I was looking to buy a new motorcycle due to the prices of diesel (was driving a F350 SRW) but couldn't quit get my wife on board with that idea. So I started looking at cars to see if anything out there interested me but everything looked like the car next to it. I then thought of Mini's cause she had mentioned once before. I read and read and read, then decided to test drive one and I was hooked. So I still have a 2010 F350 Dually for pulling the horse trailers and now a fun car with good gas mileage, instead of approx $400 a month in diesel. Let the fun begin

I've wanted a cooper for the longesttt time, and am so incredibly ecstatic to finally be able to say I drive one, a brand new one, that I've worked inexplicably hard in order to afford myself (I'm only a 20 year old college student). I was so sick of blending in with the rest of the "average" world in their civic's, corolla's, TC's, Cobalt's, etc (you see where I'm going with this). I came from a Civic coupe, and although the V-Tech in it gave it nice pep, it was so boring. Mini's stand out for a few reasons to me, their legacy, their distinct design, their size, their color combinations, their immense list of cool features, including safety features, and of course the gas mileage (although my civic was pretty amazing on gas as well). I've always thought that a car says a lot about the individual driving it; what type it is, the condition it's in, whether it's clean or not, if it has a lot of "junk" piled in it, etc. And since I've had my MINI, I've heard that the car "fits" me and my personality perfectly, a great compliment. I always keep it clean, I aim to have the grille so shiny that it hurts to look at it in direct sunlight. I wanted to stand out in traffic, and now I finally do while I'm zipping through it

Needed a car and I always saw a dark silver R53 parked at work. So instead of going for another Honda Civic, I set to look at a MINI. Never did any research on the car and decided to look at inventories online and saw the MY. After I took it to work I realized mine was different from the R53. Thats when I did my research.

Girl I was crazy for in high school, also my prom date, had a fully loaded Black 2004 S with chrome rims and low low miles that her mom from England gave her when she got her license. she showed it to me and I thought it was one of the best things on this planet. she let me drive it and I fell in love with that damn thing!!!

first day of summer, she crashes it and totals it. Couple years later I finally got one and couldn't be happier. she is pissed I have one now If it wasn't for her, I'd be driving a boring old Toyota

I bought a Mini because my 400awhp Audi pissed me off so badly that I vowed never to own a tuner car again and focus on my sportbikes. So I bought myself a supercharged go cart and haven't looked back.

We needed a car for our teenage daughter. She could not (or would not) learn to drive the 6sp in my Audie A4 and I wasn't about to let her drive my wife's Audi A6.

She wanted a MINI Cabriolet or a VW Beetle convertible because she thought they were cute. I was thinking that a Jetta or even a VW Beetle hardtop might be better for her. Certainly, I knew it wasn't going to be a convertible because I was concerned about the reduced vision to the back and sides when the top was up (not good for a young driver).

Went with her to look at the MINI's. We took one our for a spin and the handling won me over. I did a little more research and I found that the MINI had many safety features and performed better in crash testing than the VW Beetle.

I was sold. We found a base R56 with an automatic and we went with that. I drive it now every chance I get. It is a really neat car. It would be great if it was an 'S" model with a stick shift, but it is still a whole lot of fun to drive. I'm glad now that my daughter showed be the light. As the saying goes, a child shall lead the way.

Would you recommend a 2003 MCS to a high schooler about to buy his first car?

Coming from an 08 STI ... I really liked the STI for its utility, braking, handling, turbo power etc ... I looked at many cars to try and replace from Audi S4, CTS-V, SRT-8 Charger, etc... But they seem to fall short in some category whether too heavy, fuel mileage, size, utility ... After seeing and driving the JCW clubman .. it was all over and before I left the dealer I ordered one...
