My darling husband bought me one for our 25th anniversary. Way, way better than jewelry! I wanted a purple one so we adopted an 05. I have been loving here for 2 1/2 months. My husband has been allowed to drive her once for 5 minutes. Sorry! I just can't seem to get those keys to leave my hand! I am so crazy I have dreams of driving her.

I wanted a MINI so badly that I never even TOOK a test drive! We went to "look" at a MINI at the dealership, once there another buyer decided that they didn't want the one they ordered (hard to believe!), but, it was in our price range, the color and features I wanted and we bought it! My "test drive" was the drive home!!!

I didn't test drive either! My son helped us in our search by googling the features & color I wanted. He emailed me the picture of her sitting at a dealership in Chicago. I emailed the info to the local BMW dealer that my husband had searching and they brought her to me after I agreed to purchase her (and put 10% down). So I never even saw her in person before I bought her. I guess you could say I found love on the internet!

Welcome!

You know, we do loves us some crazies round here!

It took me three different test drives......Not because I wasn't sure I liked the car, but because I couldn't believe how much I absolutely loved it!

Bye-Bye SUV, Hello MINI!

A few things you got to do in a MINI.

1) Track Day
2) Drive the 1 from Redondo Beach, CA to California City (near OR border)
3) The Dragon (the 129)
4) Cross country Trip (Route 66 if ya got 3 weeks)

Truly a representative tale and expressed so well! Welcome to the obsession. My own obsession began 3 & 1/2 years ago when I drove the MINI following its reintroduction. Didn't buy then for a number of reasons.

Scroll forward to May, 2008. Needed a new car. Did my research and drove the Audi and Mercedes. Snooze and snooze again. Not thrilling, not exciting - just another car!

My own dear husband reminded me of my test drive 3 years before. Said I'd loved the MINI. Why not try it again. I protested - not practical - not suitable for a judge to drive up in a MINI - where would the dog ride. All the silly excuses.

Drove to the Audi dealership which was right across the street. The wheels turned 180 degrees and I found myself at the MINI dealership. Ordered that MY/MCS that I had been configuring on line 'cause it was cute and fun. Delivered on July 2nd. Now almost 4000 miles later, I agee - they'll pry my keys from my cold dead hands and to hell with the Mercedes/Audi and 'suitable' 'stuffy' cars!
