Apparently, the MINI is not on the list of "Great Date Cars." I vote for an appeal on this matter, seeing how my MCS has only failed to capture a lady's interest just once... and she was lame anyways

I'm not single so I can't attest to its dating-attraction prowess, but I do find the ladies AND the mens LOVE riding in the MINI with the top down. Or at least claim they do so they don't have to drive and be DD
That comment is just wrong on sooooooooooo many levels.
I'm in central jerz., too, near you - hiclikethedrink.

hahaha much less dirty if the guy asking is 6'7" and clearly looking to try to sit in the front seat of the mini (and he fit just fine). Although, one did ask if he could try to fit in the boot, for some reason that one seemed dirty when it happened, where as the first did not... But then he climbed in and actually fit with it closed. highly entertaining.
Ah, memories! I had a date with a lovely girl scheduled when I was in high school, almost 20 years ago. My car at the time was an inherited '63 Ford Futura Falcon, rusted floorboards with asphalt showing from below, springs sticking out of the seats, straight six and 3 speed on the column. Foolishly, I asked to borrow my mother's pristine Oldsmobile 88 or 98. Alas, before the date could be kept, Mom's car was wrecked and totalled. My date never happened. I never saw the girl again. Unanswered prayers.
I'm looking forward to taking my wife on a date soon, even a long weekend, when we take delivery of our MINI!
I snagged my pretty little wife back when I was in grad school and driving a battleship gray primer-covered '74 Mercury Monarch - the "Iron Butterfly" - a car so ratty that it never had to be locked, no matter where it was parked. I was making about $7000/year on an assistantship and on our first date I fed her ramen noodles with cottage cheese. For some reason, she decided to stick around.
Since I was sharing an apartment with three other grad students, we had a lot of "firsts" in that car
Of course, she wouldn't be caught dead in such a ratmobile these days. Thus, it was effortless to talk her into my buying the MINI. Yee haa!
No MCS, just a lowly MCC. fun none the less :-) Central Jersey, East Brunswick area. But i shop at your mall
Either way, top down is definitely the way to go... if there was anything I'd change about my MINI, it'd be to have that roof go away at the touch of a button! Honestly, open roofed MINI-age is something else
Have you been to Freehold Mall lately? They're trying to turn it into some kinda classy establishment. It makes me uncomfortable

Nice! What town?
You know, it'd be awesome to have some Jersey MINI meets or drives. Does anything like that ever happen? Especially on some snowy days, we could hit up some lots and do some snowdancing!
'65 red Ford Mustang w/289 v8 dual exhaust and white interior. Buckets, but I had a fuzzy black pillow that fit perfectly between the two front seats. Allowed for a bit of snuggling while scooping the loop in the old home town...
Come to think of it, that car was the basis for several follow-on girl friends as well. I sometimes think how nice it would be to still have it as a companion for the MINI...

totally agree.. when they started doing the new floors I was a bit surprised. But then again, while they're re-doing all of this to be "classy," they're also adding an.... ARBYs. LOL

Michelle, you obviously didn't get the memo. Arby's is a bastion of classiness!
Seriously though, they have excellent sandwiches. I think I'll get one today, I have to go in and find a skinny black tie. I never thought those were so difficult to find!
we have two in between my fiance and i and bought them both as our second cars after we started dating, but even so, everytime either of us is at a gas station we have shared experiences that random people walk up and say....hey can i check out your car its really awesome. of course me being a woman its a little uncomfortable(since i live in Miami), but my fiance will have a bunch of younger girls "want to look at the mini"
I must be going to the wrong gas stations, I'm not getting enough female interest in my MINI when I get gas
hahahahaha we live in Miami, FL so im assuming its that there are many women around here with absolutely no shame or shyness lol. come down here for a week and put gas a few times, you'll see.
