Power Outlet LED Flashlight Pic
Power Outlet LED Flashlight Pic
Here is a picture of a power outlet LED Flashlight that I placed in my boot power outlet since my car was missing the cover when I bought it. Here is a catalog picture of the flashlight.

Here is what it looks like in the car.

And here is where I bought it.

My only complaint is that the company didn't tell me it was on back order, I had to email to find out and they charged my credit card immediately when I ordered it. But it is nicely made, sturdy, works as advertised, puts out a nice amount of light, is small and fits well in the boot. I bought one for the front power outlet also.
Cheers.

The flashlight is turned off and on by removing the flashlight from the power outlet and rotating the top slightly to turn it on. To make the flashlight show up a bit better I turned the flashlight on then stuck it back in the outlet. Typically I just leave it in the power outlet turned off until I need it.
That looks better than the VW Touareg flashlight I have. Cheaper too.
As a side note... I wired an "always on" power outlet on the opposite side panel so the flashlight is always fully charged. It'll also come in handy if I ever need to use my air compressor without having to turn the ignition on.

Search for cigarette and you should find it.
I for one appreciate the info.
Everytime I check out the new posts, there is another thing that I never knew about but now couldn't live without.

Anyway, shipping is kind of expensive at the site above. Check out Amazon or others.

You are correct, shipping is kinda expensive at that site. I spent quite a bit of time looking for the best deal for the flashlight when I bought them. At the time they had the best combination of price and shipping. That may have changed since I ordered mine. Since it didnt cost any more to ship the second light I bought two figuring I would put one in the front of the car and one in the boot. I just wish they had informed me that they were backordered when I placed my order. If anyone orders from them it might be worth asking about.

Thanks for the Amazon tip, at least shipping was free.
My wife bought the ones from jtspotlight for Christmas gifts for all of us. They fit and work very well in the boot outlet (just be careful when you have large items in the boot that you don't catch the end of the flashlight when removing the large item). My son has an '08 Civic and the flashlight doesn't make contact in the outlet that is in his dash by the radio (the outlet is bigger around than the flashlight). I'll need to search around for some kind of adapter for him.
The two that I ordered came with an adapter to be used with just this scenario but the MINI has a small power outlet socket so I dont need them. Let me know your address and I will send one out to you.

But if you buy 32 of them ($500 worth), you get free shipping.
At least at Amazon you only have to buy 2 to reach that level.Good tips, guys - this looks like a perfect use for the boot plug so you don't have to go all the way to the glovebox for a torch. (if we're going to say boot, we have to say torch.)
Griot's Garage carries them also: http://griotsgarage.com/product/13019.do
Hey, it's made in Germany! But I think I'll get it from somewhere else.

those things are handy...the one I have from brookstone also has a magnet and 2 flash modes, so you can stick to your car if you are broken down
the fact that the power in the boot outlet is not a constant on is fine as just the normal driving keeps these things charged enough
