I have the 16% SC pulley, 2% Crank pulley, STB, OCC, DFIC w/aerogel. I am very happy with the products they have come out with. Ive had most of this stuff on for about 10 months now without any issues. just waiting till January to get my RMW tune with Jan to tie all these parts together.

might want to bring your stock intercooler along, just in case (or at least discuss it ahead of time). Jan's not a fan of the DFIC and you might be limiting your tune with it, despite M7's marketing diatribe to contrary

do I still get an Xmas card this year?

maybe a mod can rename this thread the 'M7 fanboi/hater containment thread'

perhaps M7 can officially explain how to get the USS to work on cars where it hits the stock cat? I'd love to know...I'll pick up another if there's a valid solution or redesign....I like what it did.

I have M7 product on my R56 JCW and it's the best aftermarket performance and aesthetic addition I've found. Well designed, thought out and compatible products which exceed or match anything on the market and allow me to feel comfortable with aftermarket instead of OEM. I am a little price insensitive, so you may be able to find less expensive products, but this is the real thing. Great customer service to boot.

What product? How did you assess the performance?

Again, I'm not familiar with the whole story, but if the problem is arising because the catalytic converter shifted out of position as a result of adding an aftermarket exhaust, wouldn't the appropriate solution be to tweak the exhaust so it no longer interferes with the USS?

There are any number of aftermarket modifications that depend on all of the surrounding parts being in their original locations in order to work correctly. Or, did you have a suggestion for how to modify the USS so that it will work with *any* aftermarket exhaust, so that M7 doesn't have to test it with every exhaust on the market?

Oh, and in keeping with the OP's request, I have the M7 strut reinforcement plates on my wife's 2006 MCS cabrio, and their strut bar on my 2006 MCS cabrio. With her car, the passenger-side strut tower had significant mushrooming after the first 6,000 miles, so I flattened it out, added the SRPs, and there's been no more mushrooming in the subsequent 16,000 miles. On my car, I added the reinforcements the day I brought the car home from the dealer, so I don't know if mine would have mushroomed without them, but it's been 23,000 miles and no mushrooming so far.

Our cars are virtually identical, have the same OEM 17-inch wheels on them, are driven on the same roads, and my wife and I have similar driving styles/habits. I know that's not statistically significant, but that's as scientific as I can get without owning a fleet of MINIs.

simple - don't put it 1/8" from the stock cat - that ought to do it. to assume owners will be using the stock exhaust is quite naive...MOST that buy the USS will probably have an aftermarket piece here. No, no manufacturer can or should test every option out there...that's silly. Once intereference issues are known with particular exhausts (especially the two which we had....among the most common despite M7 claims to the contrary), it would be nice if they'd say so on their site - that's been suggested ad nauseum but to date, I see no such notice. See the issue?

note to M7 - MillTek and Alta are quite common...just read NAM.

I know what seat of pants is
I am convinced. Plus I have dnyo charts to back it up.
Scenario You drive the car before you
performed mods. Ok so so. you did this this and this. Now it pulls are out
of the whole and you have to hang on to steering wheel and your pushed
a little back in your seat. Thats convincing me.

Guido... the reason your car goes so well now is that I tuned it...

Alright this hating needs to stop, just because M7 brings us some awesome out of the box parts doesnt mean we should try and find every little thing wrong with them, and plus if you dont like them dont buy them nor talk **** about them because there are other interested buyers that dont think the same as you..... How come nobody will start a thread about any other vendor products that they dont like, why the all of a sudden jokes and hatred on M7...... HUH?.....

have you bothered to read this thread? if not, go back to start, do not collect $200. if so, perhaps reading comprehension isn't your forte.

Ummm... do a search for "Paulo Uber" or maybe "Randy Webb Customer Service" (from about a year ago). M7 gets bashed around here quite a bit, but it's because they sell a wide variety of unique products. Lots of other vendors get bashed too...

I really don't see any direction this thread could possibly take besides some posters praising M7, others bashing them, and the two groups sniping at each other. There will be demands for scientific justification of claims, even where none are possible, and it will basically turn into a re-hash of every other M7-centric thread out there.

....a nice way to vent about the same old issues... or any part a few people had a problem with and wasn't provided with a solution...

I think very few people can provide hard performance data on their mods, and the one that is on most peoples minds (maybe yours) is the probably the IC, in this case M7's DFIC. Lots of hype, mostly created by M7, very hard to properly measure the performance increase but it's not just their IC that has that problem; Randy Webb's website promissed me additional horses from the GRS IC and I don't think they are there in my car. Do I post a million comments about it, no... I accept that it might be bling, that I can't feel a difference. I think the hidden agenda is that some want to continue to question M7's way of testing, their way of announcing their parts ("hype" - no data) and with that I have no issue, but don't bs around it; state it that way... Some people feel the need to protect us from buying from a specific vendor or buying their hype. We must be saved, we can't make decisions ourselves. We already know that most people that have M7 products are not going to post something bad about what they just spent their money on; instead they are going to post how happy these parts make them feel, that their cars improved with these parts. Then you're going to question them, or warn them... and then this thread looks like all the others...

M7 USS - great concept, but it would be nice for Peter and crew to disclose exhaust fitment issues - I had two USS kits and two MINI's and neither worked due to clearance problems with the OEM cat.
a) M7 hasn't disclosed fitment issues on their site. why?
b) no, really, I did have clearance issues with the OEM cat. True story...not misleading at all. The clearance is too tight to the OEM cat. I didn't mention that the USS hit the resonator on my Alta as well because, well, that's the breaks when it comes to aftermarket parts (see item a) above)
