Energizer Work Light
Energizer Work Light
Just thought I'd pass this along. I found this Energizer LED Head Lamp at Lowes on Friday and thought it might come in handy. I was right!
I had to change oil on three cars last night and used it with great results. Easy to adjust, and plenty bright to get the job done. It was perfect for peering into the motor to get at filters and see if anything was leaking. I also found it handy for crawling around under the vehicles and lighting up the drain plug and then doing my inspection.
Today I put it on to vacuum the vehicles and found it handy again. (In the garage since it's cold here now)
For the $14 I paid, it was worth every penny. Perfect stocking stuffer.

Battery life is supposed to be 48 hours or so. I use a trouble light also, but like you said, they have a tendency to blow. I had a flourecent that worked pretty good, but the pure convenience of the head lamp makes this my new must have. Wherever I looked I had light. This one has a flood light and a spot light, or both at the same time. I used it on both.
I also used it this afternoon for rewiring a driving light on my truck. Light right where I needed it.
This fall I was blowing out irrigation systems in the dark with a flashlight in one hand and a tools in the other. Major pain. Wish I had this with me then.
For the money its a good thing. If it continues to be as handy as I think it will I'll upgrade to a better one later.

Nope. With three cars I don't put enough miles on to go by miles, so I go by time instead. Once in the spring, once in the fall. Great things is they all use 5W-30 Synthetic. Just line em up and drain and refill.
However that Energizer work light seems like a great option for a lot of people.

The batteries last a LONG time with the LED lamps. We had a 4-day power outage last winter, and my LED headlamps were on most of the time, with no obvious loss of brightness.
The lamps themselves are good for thousands of hours. They don't have a filament, as such. I have used LED lamps for years, and have never had one burn out or break.
The LED light in the OP is excellent. I use the version with the red light/white light toggle for amateur astronomy expeditions (red LED for activities where I need to preserve night vision, and white light for end of night teardowns), and have *always* been impressed. I've got the two LED version, but know that they make them with up to six LEDs (of varying brightness), which would be outstanding for roadside work.

I recently bought at Lowes the Task Force LED flashlight that runs on 2 C batteries....incredibly bright...runtime is supposed to be about 6 hours...and it matches pretty closely the color/texture/style of the e-brake on my anthracite interior of my MC....and it comes with a pouch so it doesn't rattle in my door....I bought the updated version which says "60X brighter"
