JCW Steering Wheel Multi-function?

Okay, so far two mini dealerships say that you cannot have the multi function buttons on a JCW steering wheel. I know I have read somewhere (couldn't find on the search) that you can switch the multi function over. Can somebody straighten my out please?

Thanks!

Ben

In the 1st Gen MINIs, yes, you can... because the existing MFSW inserts transfer over. I have it! (JCW SW + MFSW).

I'm not sure about 2nd Gen MINIs, but I'd expect it should work as well - it would be silly for them to change that policy!

I have a 2006 JCW with a MFST.

Do you mean swapping wheels?

Yes! I ordered the car with the MFSW and really want to get a suede JCW steering wheel but not give up the MFSW functions...

so a straight swap

YES and here is a picture of the one I installed just the other day in my car.

This wheel is soooo much nice.

Morristown has them for $468. So that might save a few bucks.

Thanks for the pic and the info. Did you have to do anything special or get any extra parts? And about how long did it take you?

Morristown was one of the dealerships I called and they told me it cannot be done! go figure! Yet another reason NAM is great...
