I'm starting to lose my composure. My chili red MINI arrives in NJ on the 11th and will take up to a week to get to CT. It's so close yet so far.

 

Finally got a picture from the phone to the iPad to here. They may not be pretty, but they reflect the way she looks right now. I'm chasing an oil leak to free up the workshop for my wife's new project car; a '64 Vette that her father has owned since new and he is now handing it down to her.

 

The wife is now looking at the country man.. Guess what, you CAN'T order Chili Red. :-(

 

Well obviously she can't buy that model. LOL It's got to be Chile Red.

 

I just got an e-mail from my MA asking if anyone was interested in two Limited edition Chili Red Countrymans that are coming over on the boat. She stated they are in fact Chili Red not Pure Red. Ask your dealer if they have heard of this. You may be able to get the color you want for a limited time.

 

I just heard they are making 100 Chili Red Countrymans.

 

Nothing like a red Mini and a red Vette.

 

So, I'm new to these boards, and just discovered this topic (and reading all the helpful comments now). Quick question proabably addressed many times before:

Am I lame if I'm a guy who buys a chili red body with white top? Do I beome less cool if I also like the white stripes on the hood? Looking at buying the base cooper hardtop.

Incidentally, I'm pretty comfortable with my masculinity, and I fell in love with red and white, but the MINI salespersons basically told me that only women buy red body with white top. I was pretty surprised, but who knows (I live in So CAL).

MINI is introducing a "Chili Red Edition" soon. We should have 4 here in Dallas in the next few weeks, just in time for Xmas!

 

I think your salesperson must be an idiot. We have lots of CR/W MINIs (and yes, even with white stripes) owned by men and women. After all, it is the best combo around.

 

^+1 CR/W is classic MINI styling, IMO. Get what you like, that is the first I have heard that comment on CR/W, unfortunately not the first time I have heard thats a girls car (of course color not being the contributing factor)...

 

"Minibuyer, lmao that is one of the silliest things I have ever heard. If you like the car you should get it, but definately get a new salesman. I have '12 MCS Red with White Top (Wish I had gotten the stripes and still may) and am absolutely perfectly secure with my masculinity (though I do prefer men). I work with a totally oblivious Englishman who often says to me because of my car " would you direct some of the ******* you turn down my way?" I just laugh and tell him he can't imagine how much of that I have to turn away. Fire your salesman, I think perhaps he may be having genital inadequacy problems.
