My MINI was Attacked
Very true. I'm pretty sure the umbrella was actually coming for me, as my sunroof was fully open.
I'd really like to get a "no umbrellas" badge now.
I got one more quote - $901.00!!!
I'm going to have the shop next to my office do the work. I spoke with the insurance adjuster yesterday. I'm just going to fax him the quote, and he's going to send me a check. Quick and easy. Now I just hope the repairs go well.

Make sure your new paint matches the rest of the car perfectly. A good painter can usually tell if part of your car has been "fixed" by a bad color match - if your paint isn't perfectly matched, you can have them adjust the color until it is. Look at it from all angles and in the sunlight when you get him back. Good luck.
Unfortunately, color isn't one of the strong points of my vision. I'm mildly color blind, so I have a really difficult time distinguishing between minute differences in color.
I work as an adjuster in the collector car insurance field and I call tell you in regards to this particular product we have no warehouses with take offs as you state. I am sure that CW can pip in on the standard auto side.
I would go with the PDR first and if does not work then you will need traditional body work.
I can tell you from my professional experience that PDR is great and even from my personal experience with my Mini.
In my job I encounter lots of vehicle with damage some severe some not, when it comes to collector cars you always want to try to stay away from disturbing paint...especially if you are dealing with an all original car!
In regards to my personal experience. I had a dent on the bonnet (right where the little rounded part is in the middle) and had the local PDR place take it out. You can't even see it! And trust I can see fly poop on my Mini from a mile
PDR is a great technique. I would always check the PDR side of things first before going traditional body work, it is really that good. However sometimes they can't get access to the dent or the dent is not the type of dent that will respond well so you are stuck with traditional repair.
Let us know what happens, great to hear that the coffee shop is stepping up and taking care of this.

There's a couple of minor scuffs that we noticed on the roof today. The dent is also at a pretty sharp angle. I've received very mixed input as to how well PDR will work. So, based on that, I've decided to go the traditional method with repainting the roof.
My wife and my anniversary is on the 9th, so I'm going to wait and take it in the next day. I'd hate to be depressed driving a rental on our anniversary.
I asked to keep the original hood badge. They're going to put a new one on, so I get a bonus piece of MINI-swag out of the whole deal! What a stupid thing to be excited about.
Norton is in the shop now. I dropped him off yesterday. That was difficult. The only vehicle the rental company had when I needed it was a Chevy Uplander. Ugh! I hope the repairs go quickly.
