Buh Bye... selling my MINI
I just traded in my Mini. It has been 72 hours since the trade. I have my new car, which is not a Mini and my friend ran into the dealer who sold me my car that said that the mechanic was going over my car and found that I need an entire new transmission. He said that it was their fault and they should have discovered this before, but they didn't. Wow-talk about good timing. How much would a new transmission have cost me? My car was a Cooper Base with automatic CVT, 2004.
I think CVT's are multiple thousands to replace. I wouldn't know personally, I've never had one.

I got a Honda Fit 2007 for my daughter in the midwest, no MINI dealerships nearby except in Indianapolis, otherwise I would have got a MINI for her.
OK the CVT isn't the most reliable and yes you dodged a bullet by trading it in sucessfully... whew!
Now someday after all the little annoying bugs are worked out, check out the new R56 MC with automatic transmission. Should work fine. Buy it used for better value. Meanwhile use your new car for the timebeing. This plan also works if you can live closer to a MINI dealership. If the MINI is out of warranty then find a good reliable shop, Way Motors is in Indianapolis!

Nice, now put a white roof and side mirrors on it and some white racing stripes. Don't forget to wave to other MINIs
