Special offer for NAM members: A Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat (in the Snapdragon color) plus an extra base. We tried multiple car seats and this is the only one we found that will properly fit in the back of an R50/R53. It will probably fit in the back of the newer models as well, but we have not tried it.

The KeyFit 30 fits into the back of a MINI better because it is not as wide as other car seats. It's the only one we found that will fit though the opening between the folded forward front seat and the body of the car without banging into either one. Plus we were able to secure the base with the latch system much tighter than either the Britax or Graco bases. When we tried them out at Babies R Us, those bases were quite a bit looser than the Chicco base, which snugs up so tight it actually seems like part of the car.

This is the seat for infants up to 30 pounds, and yes, you can "baby" in a MINI! We've now moved up to the Oribit Baby Toddler seat (it spins around, after a fashion) and wish it fit as well as this one did. It doesn't spin around as easily as we would like it to, but it will do.

This seat is in great condition, with only a few minor scuffs on the seat itself (mostly on the bottom) and no weird tears, rips or stains on the seat cover itself. All parts included, shoulder pads, infant padding and owners manual.
