2006 Formula 1 Discussion Thread
I hear ya Doc Diff. My wife and I leave Wed. night for Indy. Her first F1 experience.
We'll be there for the pit walk on Thurs. and through the weekend.
Is it too late to get a car corral pass? Who should I speak with to get one?

p.s. You're being comped by Red Bull, correct? You might want to check with their clients relations people too.
p.p.s. What do I have to do to get a Coulthard, Klien, Liuzzi and Speed autographs?
Just back from Montreal, and I must say the 2006 V8 formula was not a disappointment...the sound is not as deafening in decibels, but intact with the RPMs...at low revs the cars moaned. Looking forward to the opinions of those headed to Indy...
I'm not sure what the commentators on SPEED had to say, but the Casino hairpin was 2" deep in rubber at the conclusion of the race, poor Ralph look like he was on ice on every lap, pausing several times off course to let the others through. It caught MSchumacher out several times as well as Raikkonen at the most crucial time...
Enjoy Indy!

My wife and I have decided we WILL be bringing the MINI to the USGP this weekend. I called the ticket office and they said they would have a car corral pass waiting for me at administartion. Hopefully we'll be meeting you guys at the corral. Thanks for the help guys!
J-Stylez: When are you getting to the Indy area? Do you have reservations for the Police Escort? Check on the MINICCI forums here and at www.MINICCI.org
We will be in the turn 6 "terrace" - that new grandstand last year - row FF......so sorry I could not bring the MINI - it's just too far to drive, not enough time off from "work".....I will be the nut with the Cooper S hat on and the Spanish flag with DeLa Rosa's and Alonso's signatures on it !
Ya'll come out to Andersonville Speedway Saturday night! It will be more fun than anything! .......or maybe catch some dirt
at other local tracks! Marc Weber was at IRP a few years ago! ya never know who you'll run into!

Cooperation an RF1... I want to go to Canda race. I've never been to an F1 race before. I think that Canda next year will have to be my first one.
Good race, it was fun to see those guys getting twitchy on turn 10...

From what I understand everyone with a Car Corall parking pass enters via the 30th street entrance. I don't see why you couldn't go directly there at any specific time. Might be a line to get in there.
A wet USGP?
The weather channel is calling for Isolated Thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.
Accuweather.com has them comming in on Sunday and Monday.
Everyone have rain gear?

Doc...we got into Indy safely. We're tryin to get rested from the drive last night. We got our car corral passes this morning so expect to see us at the track. When is the MINI contingent planning on meeting there?
Most everyone is planning on taking the 9:00 am police Escort from the Indy Zoo. So I would guess that if you aren't doing the police escort thingy, try to be at the 30th st entrance at 9:00am. That way you will be early.
Just got back from the race a couple hours ago. My wife and I went on a whim (weve planned 3 trips, but all have been interrupted), and I didn't think to post here before leaving. We got down on Friday night, and camped in Lot 1C. Had a blast at the quali, and the nights in the lot. After Kimi crashed *shakes fist at JPM*
, and MS started to pull away, we left the corner 10 terrace, and walked the track and took pics from the different general admission mounds.
I'll post some pics, and vids when i get them uploaded tomorrow.

This is a huge loss to F1. As much as Montoya has disappointed this year at McLaren, he's still a super talented driver. For him to leave the pinnacle of motorsport and join perhaps the stupidest sport in the world, is simply shocking.
Thoughts?
