Under hood heat exhaust

I'm posting this thought I had here because I figure those that autocross may be more beneficial if it would work.

As most know, in stop and go traffic in a MCS, a lot of heat builds up under the hood and decreases performance. I thought that maybe to exhaust some of this heat a small fan could be used. Similiar to a computer fan. Place this fan on the plastic divider on the passenger side to exhaust the heat from the engine out through the cowl cover.

I don't know if a fan could exhaust enough heat or if it would even help. It was just a thought because I notice in the summer a decrease in pick up when stuck in traffic.

Like I said, just a thought.

It would be the same as trying to cool off by faning yourself with one finger. I think opening the hood between runs & tossing a bag of ice on the intercooler would though.

Ceramic coatings work well. It will also increase scavanging. With a cat. welded onto the header you could only coat the outside, but it would still help. For a Mini it would cost about $150. Check out this site www.polydyn.com
