Jeanna,
Sounds like a great idea.... actually one that Mark and I have discussed in the past. Being that he is an auto x-er and I will be doing a bit myself. We would very much be open to something like this in the future.
We talked about "Team MCO" short simple. If you have any other ideas please feel free to post them..... Nothing is set in stone as of yet.
Let me know what you think. Also anyone else interested in this please let us know. We will likely gauge the results on the feedback we get.
Happy Motoring.

Count me in, I am a frequent participant in driver-eds and autocrosses. Let me know what I could do to help. Possibly we could make up some Mini Cooper Online racing graphics.....

I'm in too! I've never done auto-x before, but I'm practicing to. Would love to participate and help out in any way I can, although I'm in Hawaii. But they do have SCCA SoloII events monthly at Hawaii Raceway Park, so maybe we can get some local chapters going!

I'm in for the autocross club. I use to autocross my teg typeR here in Baton Rouge. Haven't autocrossed in 3 years but it should be easy to get the rust out with a MCS. My MCS delivery is in January so I'll have to start back next season.

I do web hosting on the side, let me know if you all want to setup a site for the club... I'll help manage it.

If any of you would like to race a MINI I built the cage in the first MINI to be raced in SCCA competition I'm also working on a dozen or so specialty items to help you enjoy your car more. Stick my web site in your favorites and check in from time to time. I'm mostly a one man show so it will take a while to get all my ideas to reality.

I really think it would be great to get some "Team MCO" graphics and maybe Tees going. Now that more MINIs are out on the streets, I'm sure we'll be seeing more MINIs at local tracks. I know I'm just about ready to hit the strip! (Just waiting for those 17" O-Z Superleggeras from Tire Rack to finally come in!) Let's show our colors!

How about it, guys? If they decide to come with some Team MCO apparel and merchandise, how many of us would there be to buy the stuff? I think static stickers would be great, plus the stickers that go across the top of the windshield. Any other interested parties and/or ideas?

MINI's are showing up in both proffessional and amateur classes. Ray Hampton Racing is entering 3 cars in the Us Touring Car Series, and Tony Nuzzo is entering 2 MCS in Grand-Am. For more info on the MCS from Ray Hampton Racing check out the thread in this forum - MCS Testing at WSIR.

For the amateur there is the North American Barvarian Racing Series that has 2 classes of spec MINI's, Cooper and MCS, http://www.northamericanbimmerracing.com/

and for track days there is NASA - National Auto Sport Association with 13 chapters in the US - http://www.nasaproracing.com

Best Regards
Ray Hampton

Myself, RandyBMC, and ficcion will be doing the complete Rocky Mountain BMW CCA autocross series in the spring and summer. The are hosting an 6-8 race series and we'll be there in the thick of it.

Team MCO would be cool.

Agreed.

We'll have to start working on some vinyl for the windows soon.

Maybe Mark will buy us all a set of Falkens for promoting this great site with the racing team

I'm planning on getting magnetics made up for the season. Initially I was just thinking of getting a couple of number plates. However, I really like the TeamMCO idea, maybe I'll work a little on a concept for a vinyl/magnetic.

Dave,
Let me know when your ready and I'll send you an Adobe Illustrator template of magnetic number panels I did for my S2000 last year. They meet the specs for letter dimensions and Annie at SignEdge (www.signedge.com) made them for me.

I plan to have a set of MINI-Motorsport graphics done - something small that would run along the bottom of the door. I'm considering doing a sponsership for the BMWCCA series, like, if you use the graphics I'll provide track support for free (but then you have to come to the shop for other stuff too!). I'd be interested in getting a TeamMCO number meatball though.

Can't wait for winter to be over - WOO-HOO

Looks to me like between TeamMCO, MINI-Motorsport, and MINI5280 we should have the MINIs in the BMW CCA series pretty well covered with magnetics.

And I agree Randy, I can't wait for spring.

I think it's time for a group buy on magnetics for the BMWCCA series!
