Options and weight
We pulled a sunroof " cassette " out and the entire unit weighed 58 lbs. this was on a uncalibrated bathroom scale but it should give you an idea as to what was going on . The unit was replaced by a welded in aluminum sheet which put about 10 lbs back into the roof. We didn't take the unit out so much for the weight but as this was becoming a track only car he didn't want that much glass on top of his head
When we corner weighted my '06, it weighed 2413 lbs. with one gallon of fuel (before I got in it with my helmet for the corner weighting).
The primary things that made it lighter:
No sunroof.
No rear seats.
Sparco EVO L front seats (but with a harness bar). Not sure how much weight savings but it's enough to feel.
Exedy hyper clutch & flywheel assembly (26 lbs. less than OEM)
15x7 Kosei K1-TS wheels with Hoosier 225/45-15 tires (about 31 lbs./corner - street tires are 195/50-15 RE01Rs, same wheel model & size - about the same overall weight as my track set-up)
Braille battery
Milltek exhaust
H-Sport control arms & sway bar
No floor mats (set up for a track/auto-x day).
If only I could get serious about personally losing 40 lbs...
