Using runflats for a track day ???
Wanted to get the thoughts of the experts... Is it ok to use runflats on the track ? I'm going to a track day on 12/1 and was thinking of using my jcw 112 factory wheels with runflats rather my HRE with contis... Any advice is appreciated...

I don't see why you shouldn't. The same reasons why they have a crappy ride (stiff sidewall) should give good handling. I've never tried it myself though. I'd only suggest you use different tires for the track and street, which sound like what you're planning.
Ok for beginners as your concentrating on your line and hitting your marks. Need to learn your cars abilities girst anyway....
But they will not be a great tire choice down the road....too slippery.

Some runflats I've had on hired MINIs have actually been pretty good as performance tires. They have to be the summer tires though, the all seasons I got on Quentin were total crap, much too slippery. For hard core usage there are probably better non runflat tires out there.
The Dunlop RF are excellent at the track. As posted above the stiff sidewalls are very responsive and give great feedback. I ran them several days at Thunder Hill in the dry and they held up way better than I expected.
I know I am late to the party but I used to run track days on run flats.
Two weekends both in blue run group , might be called intermediate
No issues , but as you advance as a driver they will not advance with you. Also the outside edges take a beating and you may see chunks missing from that outside edge.
Other than that on really hot days they got greasy but still lots of fun. Anyone starting out its a great solution to use what you got and run on them. I would not suggest keeping them long term as your daily commuter tires after this.
