no kiddin'
safety car with 13 laps to go, and all now refuelled all the way to the last lap.
Two safety car outages that reshuffled strategies... about as unpredicatable and thrilling as it gets.

apparently a punctured tyre.

Now it's Raikkonen, Schumi, Barrichello, Zonta (in P4 after starting last, WOW!)...

And the safety car comes out AGAIN, for the 3rd time!
With only 4 laps to go. Apparently due to Coulthard scattering debris over the track...

Yup, no need to worry about Montoya's potential "punishment" for punting Trulli...he had a blowout and probably won't even be on the lead lap by the time he finally gets out of the pits. Those Michelins aren't looking so good today...Raikonen is under pressure from Schummi and is probably wondering whether his sill survive the push to the finish.

Zonta is out with only 1 lap to go.

What a pity, since he did so remarkably well, from last place to fourth.

What a GP!

Only 10 of 20 cars complete the race.

Raikkonen wins.
Schumi 2nd, and hes is the 2004 F1 World Champion, for the 7th time, congrats Michael!
Rubens is third.
Two Saubers - Massa and Fisichella - in 4th and 5th.

What a race!

5?
Schumi, Rubens, the 2 Saubers, but Kimi has a Mercedes engine, and Christian has a Cosworth engine - or is the Cosworth engine made by Ferrari?

Awesome race!!! Anyone new to F1 and watching, you have been in for a treat today.

As for only 10 of 20 cars finishing, I can remember being at the F1 Long Beach Grand Prix in the 70’s where only 7 cars finished in a field of 24. They only gave points to the first 6 cars then so only 1 car finished out of them.

They showed the replay of the race from a couple of years ago where half the cars got taken out in the first turn....it was CRAZY...even crazier than yesterday.

Can you believe this? Ferrari is now 1-2! Button probably wants to kill himself.

I was watching this morning, but .....

I think I am going to tape this one tonight to watch again...

Sndwave, think we were all cheering for Button. I also felt bad for Alonzo. He had done a great job. Did they ever say what had happened? There was so much going on it was hard to keep track.

Makes me sad the season only has 3 races to go!
China in 2 weeks!

What a disappointment for Fernando Alonso. Did anyone else see him pleading with the marshals to give him a little push (allowed as he was in a dangerous area). Trying to get a push in a non-Ferrari F1 car at Monza must be akin to getting one of the coveted last lifeboat seats on the Titanic. It just wasn't gonna happen. I predict there will be revenge sometime in both Spain and France when one of Maranello's finest suffers a similar incident in the kitty litter.

Big changes this week-end.

Jarno Trulli starting his new contract with Toyota, alongside the returning Ralf Schumacher.

Filling in for the remainder of the season for Renault will be everybody's favorite Canadian Jaques Villeneuve. Next season Fisichella will be with Alonso at Renault, and JV will have a season or two with Sauber.

Jaguar F1 and Cosworth on the block as Ford pulls the plug on its participation in the "F1 Circus" at year's end.

What is the world coming to?
