Is anybody running the MCS @ the autocrosses with the OEM body kit? Does this keep it in stock? Worth having? I think the kit looks really good personally but a little overpriced. Anyone know where to get the same kit for less than $1300 (gasp!)? So basically I'm asking, is there anywhere I can get the same kit for less and still stay in DSP?

My reading of sec.13.2- Bodywork- of the current SCCA Solo Stock Class Rules is that aero kits are not allowed in stock classes. They are permitted in the Street Touring classes (STS/STX) but I'm not sure if the MCS is eligible for those classes because of the supercharger, the MC is. Hope this helps, we run our MC in HS, will go to STS if they reclass it to GS.

Update: I heard from a reliable source that the MCS is allowed in STX, but not STS. The aero kit would be OK in STX as would wheels up to 7.5 in. wide, tires up to size 225, any shocks using original mounting points, drilled or slotted brake rotors(original size), anti sway bars, strut brace bar, alternate air intake, reprogrammed ECU, headers, etc.(Note: SCCA always evaluates classes and rules at this time of year, so changes could occur.) Unfortunately a limited slip differential is not permitted and that is what the S really needs for the track to put down the power coming out of corners.

Just to clarify a few things:

Any STOCK class
-Any dealer installed item is not considered "factory" and therefore an "illegal" modification if it's not allowed in the STOCK class rules
(Subaru WRX drivers ran into a problem with this as Subaru lists WRX options as shortshift kits and 17" wheel and tire sets. Both options were istalled at the dealer and were therefore deemed illegal for STOCK)

In STX
LSD's for 2WD vehicles ARE legal
(You can run a Integra Type R in STX)
Reprogramed ECU's are only legal in very limited uses (you'll have to look up the rules yourself)
If you change boost levels at all forget any PREPARED category and skip directly to MODIFIED

SCCA rules can be found at:
