Minibeast finishes 2nd in class for the year!!
Preparred for a run at first for next near!
The Foreign Affairs preparred "Minibeast" MINI finished off a late start to the season by coming on strong to finish 2nd in class R8 with the Porsche BMW Owners Club Race Series. We managed four straight 1st place finishes at the end of the year to shock the rest of the R8 class with some amazing handling and performance. While the possibility remains for a change in class for the upcoming year, we believe we are preparred to duke it out with whatever class they decide to drop us into.
The final race of the season on Saturday made for some interesting running. The Minibeast MINI found itself running with a group of cars that for some reason seemed to be performing at or near similar levels. 2 cars from the R6 class (M6 and 944) as well as a Spec Racer from the RX class. (See PCA rules for classifications) Numerous changes in position occured with the Minibeast MINI and Spec racer ruling the corners while the M6 and 944 ruled the straights.
For Sunday, a fun race was scheduled. During the initial pace car lap the rain started to pour. Many cars ended up pulling out since they were either unpreparred or hoping for lack of rain. The Minibeast MINI while still on racing slicks switched over to traction contol and stayed on track with several other brave souls. The Minibeast MINI even had a first for the year, passing an 03 GT3 Cup Car who was having severe traction problems with the heavy rain.
Looking forward to more reporting for the new year.
Next stop - Winterfest at Sebring January 22th - 25th.
