I just moved down to atlanta and want to Autox. I have been to the scca websites and the bmwcca websites, what other groups do autox here? I really want to go every weekend but SCCA and CCA do not seem to have many dates.

bc

PS track days are also a plus so any clubs that do them would also be welcome.

Hey there... You will love running with the ATL SCCA group... I myself run HS in my cooper... nothing much is going on localy for a while... SCCA, bmwcca and the Porche Club are the only local groups that auto-X... but I only run with the SCCA... there are some events coming up in other regions... Middle GA runs down south... Alabama region runs in Birmingham and the Chattanoga region runs near their name sake....

from the http://www.atl-scca.org site there should be a link to the local Solo 2 e-mail list... Join up for the latest news... also a site http://www.bdmracing.com has a forum that is centered arround the local auto-x scene... and ifo is there on a track day coming up at the Talladega GP course.... not the oval but a small road course....

For local ATL events expect between 150 and 250 drivers 4 runs and plenty of past national champs to compare yourself to..

What class do you run???? and what color is your MINI so I can keep an eye out for ya...

Thanks for the links and the info. Its the chili red s with ssr rims and a florida tag. If the valentine is on, it may be hard to see  Is there a local mini club? I have seen a few of them around but not many.

Yeah there is a local club... atlantaminis... http://www.atlantaminis.net is the site... I do not do much with the club since Racing takes up most of my free time... well that and working on my house..LOL

one more auto-x link is http://www.apexbenefits.biz (a sponsor of the local scca group and the owner is a competitor too... Ben Thacher... you may know that name) in the motorsports section you can see results , schedule, and course maps for some of the up coming events.... can you tell Atlanta has too many information sources....
