Best results yet, in the rain!
Sunday's Autox was pretty wet. Most of the day it rained pretty hard. I've been running on the run flats all season and last month the course was hot. The min just wouldn't hook up. This event I was getting as good if not better traction in the wet as I ever do in the dry. I came within half a second of the leader in g stock (a very good driver with years of solo and pro solo experience in an ACR Neon). I was very happy. The Subaru crowd was smoking, They were fast!
I was also happier with a full tank of gas. I ran the first event with a full tank and then the next two with an almost empty tank. I decided to fill the tank and try this event with a full tank. The car seems to rotate better with more fuel on board.

Cool.
I had a similar experience of doing better in the rain. At a Denver BMWCCA autocross I was 2nd in the rainy morning practice and then dropped to 9th for the afternoon runs (the only ones that counted) when it dried out.
The Falken Azenis were surprisingly good in the rain autocross.

Couple of weeks ago at the Aloha 500 (BMW High performance driving school) there were only 6 MINIs amongst a vast sea of BMWs. Several of the instructors pointed out that the MINIs were out-braking, out-handling (skidpad), and quicker through the slaloms
