I just configured a JCW at the dealer yesterday and wondering why this isn't an option? Seems strange to me that the color of the housing will prevent it from working. Thanks!

The headlight comes as a complete unit, not separate housing and lighting. They just don't make a black version of the adaptive.

Which is funny because on the inside of adaptive headlights (chrome), there is a black bump to ensure that when the light turns towards the middle of the car (Passenger side turning to the left) to prevent blinding other cars. So there is a black part that looks out of place in the chrome housing, when it reality it would work best if the entire thing was black and I would venture to say loads of people would want black and adaptive headlights.

I went with adaptive lights over black housings because they serve a function. I'm glad I made the choice because it's a great feature.

You can always Joey mod and have the best of both worlds.
