Hello from a newbie
Hey, I have a 2009 jcw hardtop, that has had trouble starting twice , Iwas told by the mechanic to unhook the battery for a couple of hours to let the car reset. two hours was not enough, so we left it over night. it started up after that. about a month later my wife had the car at work and started it and run it for about five minutes and then turned it off for about ten minutes, when she tried to start it again it would crank but not start, the same as the first time.
So I did the same thing , I disconnected the battery locked the car and closed the hood. when I went back to get the car the next day,Icould not get in the car . The key would not unlock the door , so it too is done electrically.
So the situation at this time is that I need a way to get in the car or the hood with no battery. If anyone knows a way please help!

How about using the actual key and not the key fob.

Does putting the key in the driver door not unlock it?

Press this little silver button on the back of your key:

Then pull the actual key out of the fob:

That will go in your driver door and should unlock the door, then I think you know how to open the bonnet from there.

If you have 0 volts in your battery, and you unlock it manually with a key, will the window still drop down when you open the door?

And if not, will it damage the glass if you shut your door with the window all the way up?
