Factory CAI

Ok, I'm sure this question has been posted before. Does the 2009 factory JCW really come with a cold air intake from the factory? I took the cover off of my intake and it just has a normal looking, rectangular, flat filter. Aren't all cold air intakes (factory or aftermarket) conal in shape? The cover of my intake doesn't have a JCW badge or any other identification on it. Some help, please.

Mine has no "conical CAI", and I really doub´t it make any difference in terms of performance. Sound? yes, Speed? nahhh...
Mine is flat, rectangular no badges..

I do not believe the shape of the filter makes it a cold air intake. It is where the inlet air is coming from. My JCW the air is coming from the front of the car through plumbing to the intake box where the filter is. Inlet air is not coming from inside the engine compartment where it is hot. So yeah, we have a cold air inlet.

Shape of filter means nothing.

I think while a CAI is what is stated above with teh air inlet.. What makes the JCW better is its supposed to be a Cotton filter. Not paper. Correct me if i am wrong...
