Feeler: Thinking of selling my '09 JCW.

I don't want to post it for sale just yet, and I thought I'd gauge interest here first.
I'm considering selling my '09 Midnight Black JCW hatch.
It's got the Carbon Black cloth interior, Cold Weather and Premium Packages, Xenon Headlights, Aero Kit, Hi-Fi Stereo and Bluetooth with USB/iPod adaptor.

I've replaced the stock wheels with Enkei Imola matte black; currently wearing a set of stock Dunlop runflats with approximately 4K miles on them.

I've had exactly one problem with the car; the common driver's window glitch, where it bounces halfway down after being raised up. That was taken care of at the scheduled one-year service appointment in April 2010 with a reprogramming session, and hasn't recurred since.

Absolutely no rattles and no squeaks.

Near-perfect interior; paint has two tiny door dings and the usual assortment of stone chips.

42K miles on the clock.

It's financed through MINI Financial at 2.9%, and currently has a balance of $15K.
I would be looking for around $21K-$23K, but I'm not sure if that's realistic; hence the "feeler".

Anyone here interested? Comments?

Thanks!

Not interested as I have my '12 JCW but hope you decide to keep it.

Good choice of wheels BTW

I have the same wheels too, and I will be selling my car in a matter of months with less than 30k on it. Is 21-23k what people are normally getting for these cars right now?

Having looked at Edmunds, and Oodle, and Yahoo, and Motor Trend, I would say you have the car in the right price range.

Cheers,

Charlie

I've done a lot of research on this subject lately and here's my experience.

I recently picked up an '09 fJCW Hatchback with 15,000 miles in immaculate condition for $22k. It has the Aero kit and Xenons. Plus it came with an extra Challenge rim and a car cover. The only things it doesn't have that I wanted is heated seats and leather. I can live without leather (it has leatherette) and I'm going to do the heated seat mod (already ordered/received the elements).

In my opinion, it's hard to find these cars with less than 30k miles on them with the Aero Kit (not sure why, that was just my experience). On the other hand, '09s with more than 30k miles are pretty abundant (and with great options too). So, keep that in mind as you go down the path. Maybe it's just me and please don't take offense, but 30k miles is kind of a cutoff for a used car for me. I just don't even look at the cars with more than that.

There was an '09 listed on AutoTrader recently with 3,900miles and it was listed for $23,900, but it didn't have the aero kit, which was a deal-breaker for me. It sold, but I don't know how much it went for.

If you have leather interior, you can expect to get a little more for the car, but I don't think the same applies for the aero kit. The other thing I've noticed is that there are A TON of fJCW Clubman's on the market. A lot of people aren't hanging on to them and I'm not sure why. I had absolutely no interest in owning a Clubman, so I didn't spend much time looking at them. I like the Clubman, I just don't want to own one.

I think you might be a bit optimistic with the mileage. You might start asking at $22K but be prepared to take as low as $18Kish. If you don't get any inquiries at all at $22K, then you're too high.

I paid in that range for my 09 JCW 35k miles and no packages or options (that I'm aware of). I might have over paid a bit, but I did not want the sunroof and the only other JCW available within 200 miles had a sunroof. Pay to be picky I guess. Your price is in line or lower than advertised at dealers within a few houndred miles of me (Dallas, TX).
