What class does the Clubman JCW fall into? Mine is an 09 with no mods. Just wondering so I don't look like an idiot at our first event. This will be my first autox with this car.

SCCA rules have the Clubman JCW in C-Stock with the Cooper JCW.

It will also go in STX if you run street tires. The suspension-build cost is higher for STX, but you will spend a lot less for tires in STX.

 

So is it STX or CS?

 

It depends on what if any modifications you have made to the car. CS and STX permit very different mods. If your car is all stock, then I would run STX because it has the lower PAX. ( CS - 0.833, STX - 0.824)

SCCA classing rules are here. It will tell you what modifications can be made in each class.



If all of this is Greek, then just go and have fun. That is how all of us started.

 

Thanks Wahoo. I've seen and read some of the SCCA rulebook but it is just so long and drwn out I figurued I'd ask here first. I figure quite a few Mini owners autocross their cars. I think STX will be the class I'll run.
