I have the opportunity to purchase a 2009 JCW and my question to everyone here is, is the price worth it.

It's Chili Red body and roof, Covenience, Cold weather, and Premium Packages, Sport suspension, Anti-theft alarm, Interior leather Tuscan Beige, Rooster Red color line, Xenons, Rear Fogs, HD radio, Sirius Satellite radio, MINI HiFi sound, White turn signals, and aerodynamic kit.

The asking price at the dealer is $38,500.00.

I'm thinking this is very expensive as a comparable 2009 MCS would cost about $30,000.00. What do you think of the price?

So please everyone, should I jump at this opportunity or not?

I would trade in my 2 current cars if I went for this car, a 2006 Mini Cooper, and a 2006 Scion xA.

build it in the configurator exactly as spec'd out and see how much more than MSRP you're paying. Then you can make the determination yourself.

 

It's a JCW model brand new, not an S that's been modded. Yes, I would guess with full JCW package. Yes, this is the MSRP including 650.00 destination charge.

 

Build the MCS in the configurator with the JCW options and compare the prices. That will tell you how much you're paying for about 30 more hp, the muffler/brakes/clutch upgrades. And you list "aerodynamic kit" as a JCW option. If that's the JCW Aero kit that alone costs a couple of grand I think. It's not standard on the 09 JCW car in the US, only in Canada I think. I think you pay about 5-6k for the mechanical stuff on the JCW they throw in some available MCS options for a little extra more.

 

If you have to ask then my guess would be "probably not".

 

Tuscan beige with rooster red color line? Sounds....odd

 

I would not get this, only because it has a bunch of expensive stuff I don't want. My JCW MSRP is 33,650 and is exactly how I want it (except it doesn't have the JCW non-factory aero kit that I want).

 

The MSRP on my JCW was $30,300.

 

Mine was around $35K

 

Is this the car you would configure? If you had your choice of features would they include all of these? If so, then there it is - get it. Other wise, build the one you want. That's beauty of MINI, you get what YOU want, not just what's on the lot.

 

If you don't somebody most certainly will,it won't be there long....
