Anyone's beltline rubber trim splitting?
So this just started happening after about a month of ownership. Both sides split at approx the same location (just behind rear doors) within a week of each other. Curious if there is a molding seam there that would make it prone to splitting. Anyone else having this problem? I will be checking with the dealer next time it goes in, but do you suppose it would be covered under warranty?

Thanks for responding, f60jcw.
It's outside 100% of the time, but I would hope the trim would be a lot more resilient than that.. especially considering this is a new car. I'll bring it to their attention next time I'm in for service and we'll see what they say. I would be rather shocked if they did not cover it. If anything, this is just a heads-up for others that this is a potential issue.

That's a early for them to be cracking if it's your 18'. I replaced some trim on my 12' since I messed it up, found them at eMINIparts.com

I had remembered your pic and how I thought it was funny that my split was exactly vertical as yours, but didn't realize it was in the exact spot as well until I searched for this thread again. As you said, there's gotta be something in the mold or design that's causing a weakness in that spot.
