Convertible top center trim

I searched for this in the forum. I promise. Anyway ... the tabs at either end of part 54347364806 the center interior trim piece that covers the sunroof portion of the top's motor broke off and the piece fell into the car. Looks fairly easily replaced I just have to buy a new piece. Anyone having this issue?

2017 F57 JCW

Thanks,

JWS

Hello.

Is just like the one on the r57 and snaps in with clips, you have to line them up to the holes and press and snap the piece in

This is for the R57 but similar set up in F57 https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e-loose-2.html

I have a new one ordered. Sadly it isn't the clips that have failed but at the very tips on the f57, there is a small screw that holds each end in place. The small tab has failed on both ends and is irreparable. I mean maybe I could possibly try to glue the little tabs back on but it looks like a fools errand will only break again. I ordred a replacement for about $200 including shipping. Should be here soon. Easy snap in and fasten.

What I do need though is the velvety tape that is used to provide "lubrication" so to speak between the plastic parts as they slide by each other. If anyone knows where I can find that velvety tape I'd appreciate it.

Its just the soft side of velcro.

MINI calls it felt tape, Theirs is thinner.
