Top Up or Down When Parked Inside?

Is it OK to keep the top down while storing the car in the garage? Thought I read somewhere that you should always put the top up overnight even when stored inside? Not sure why this would be unless the fabric needs to stay stretched? OMG, lots of question marks! Thanks.

Only time the top goes up on mine is:
1. It is raining
2. It is snowing
3. My co-pilot whines louder the the SC about being too hot or cold.
4. Guys are throwing empty beer cans in the back seat and didn't invite me.
It also goes up at bath time.

We always put it up

interior stays cleaner and no risk of something growing if the material is damp ....
