I ordered the seats with leather seating surface, but cloth edges. That is where I had wear on my last seats. And thought it looks good.

My countryman seats are cloth in the middle with leather bolsters and I love them. To me the biggest benefit of cloth seats are that they don't get super hot in the summer or super cold in the winter. Leather in the seat with cloth bolsters doesn't make any sense to me.

I've had leather seats in my last 2 cars. I have not found them to be super hot in the summer nor are they super cold in the winter. On the other hand, I think leatherette does, but it's been a while since I've been in a leatherette seat.

Ordered my new Cooper S.
Grey exterior (black roof and mirror caps) with Black punch leather and piano black interior/black liner
Black 17" spoke wheels (that I will use for my winter tires). Will buy JCW rims for the summer tires.
Pretty loaded..even a backup camera. No Park assist though!
I'm in Canada so the packages are different. As part of the "Style" package you get the chrome exterior stuff that I'm not keen on but can swap with someone who wants to upgrade in a few months.
That 2 litre engine is crying out for more power. So when Evolve get around to it I'm there!
Might add a stripe but will see the car first.
Hopefully see the car mid May.

The wife and I have picked out the one we are going to order.

We were going for the "Volcanic Orange" but are afraid it might not be what we think the color is.

So, the final decision is, "Blazing Red"

.

Tigerhonaker I saw the Volcanic Orange at the Auto show. It is fabulous and fun (all mini). The only reason I didn't go with that color is that I felt it will be the most common because it is a base color.

Gregory, do you happen to have any photos of the VO from the show? Thanks.

No. I didn't. The show lighting is not the way to judge a color anyway. Outside is the best and maybe at night...

I think this article gives you a real look at the color. I'm a designer and work with color for a living . The VO is complex but it is a yellowy orange.

Cool shots. Those background colors are chopped, which makes the car look great, but might not be that realistic representation.

Not clear on what you mean by "real representation"?

Auto paint (as with most paint) will absorb and reflect the colors around it. If you place a VO car next to a red car it will look different than in a photo studio or on the street.

Where do you want to see the car the most? In a studio (auto show) with artificial lighting or in your driveway or on a street.

Here is a link to the British F56 brochure. The Germans as you know are control freaks so they would not put out pictures that are not the "correct" color. Obviously there will be some variation based on your computer screen...but if you want the color this will be it!

Let us know if you are still going red.

2014 "Blazing Red" MCS order placed, Feb. 21, 2014 ...

GregoryK ...

I went and talked to the Mini people today about the "Volcanic Orange" color.

I just cannot get my arms around that color with not seeing it in person in the (Daylight).

So .........

We went to the "Blazing Red" and both of us are very satisfied with that choice.

We just now went over the Order and there are some errors.
I will drop by tomorrow and get it corrected.

Congratulations!! I'm sure it will look great and it is tried and true.

Here is a vid that I saw after ordering mind in Grey. There is a red one later in the vid.

The grey looks dead in the vid but I think it work with any outfit my wife or I decide to wear....after all do you really want to be upstaged by your car!!!!

Here's a photo of the actual red (which is really great) at the launch in Oxford England.

Best

Gregory ...

I like the Grey you ordered.

When we went over the order sheet we saw where two items need attention.

(1) He should have the 2TB 6-Speed Automatic with Paddle Shifters.

(2) He left off the 346 Chrome Line Exterior.

I'll get with him tomorrow and get that corrected.

Then it will be just waiting for it to arrive.

I ordered my F56 S Hardtop on 2/12/14. BRG (black roof/mirrors and black bonnet stripes) with 6-speed manual, and 17" black Cosmos Spoke wheels. About the only options I didn't get were heads up display, dynamic ride control and backup camera.

Someone asked what the $250.00 Storage Package is. It is a storage area, with divider, under the floor board. Hidden storage per se. I got it because I like to keep loose items stowed away whenever possible. Not a cheap option, but a good one IMO.

I'm glad to see people ordering the F56. Can't wait to actually see one at a dealership. Anyone have any idea as to when their car may arrive?

Only an educated guess on my part (based on what I've been told and read), late April.

I'll keep checking the Owner's Lounge, but it's continued to say "On Order".

I was told by the G/M (General Manager) a buddy of mine it would be between 6-8 weeks.

All Sold orders go to the (Front) of the orders for Stock inventory.

I was told 6-8 weeks as well, Terry. On the bright side, by then all of the snow here in Connecticut will be gone and the streets cleaned.

I see you have a '11 BRG Mini. How do you like it? I love the paint color. I'm betting it is so much fun to drive.

Bob ...

Yes, tons of Smile Factor driving our BRG 2011, I got that for Cathy, (Wife) while she was in FL. last year.

She had always wanted a MCS and I found the 2011 in BRG with the right options and a No-Smoker.

So did my thing and when she returned she had a Smile on her face.

Then after I saw she really was loving the MCS I really got into reading about the New 2014 coming out.

So, here comes the "Blazing Red Metallic" 2014 MCS.

Actually if we did not already have the current BRG we would have went with that color.

But, her and my thinking was, time for jumping out and changing colors and get something this time really "Sporty" looking.

We are both Fired-Up on this incoming machine.

In my 2007 MCSm, I had black Lounge Leather, which wore through at the bolster edge in less than 2 years; the substrate was something green. The beautiful leather was only a very thin veneer. To the dealership's credit (Patrick MINI), they replaced the seat skin under warranty.

That may have been a bad piece of leather. My seats look like brand new, I only soften them a couple times a year.
