F55/F56 How does the valve motor on a JCW pro exhaust works.
How does the valve motor on a JCW pro exhaust works.
Hi there,
I have a question.
my car has a pro exhaust with a valve.
The valve is operated by some kind of a motor.
it looks like one that’s in you’re door to power the windows.
my question is, how does it work and how can I get is to work with a normal switch.
so, I have 3 wires.
Red, Black and Green.
I gues that you need to reverse the power on the motor to get i to turn
so normal state the motor turns left (ore up) the the reverse state the motor turns right (ore down) any one has a clue?
kind regards.

This thread in the how-to section of the forums explains in detail how to hard wire the exhaust valve to a button. Hope that helps. I need to get around to trying this out myself...
If you want the valve open all the time disconnect the wire on the bluetooth controller while the flap is open. There are two connectors from what I remember, as google search or here will tell you which one to disconnect.
I know I can keep the valve open all the time. But that's not what I'm looking for. Thanks for your reply.
I don't know anything further about the operation of the motor, so unfortunately can't help you there. Being that you've already done the hard-wiring project from that thread, I'm interested in finding out how, or maybe why, you would like to make it "better." I've ordered the supplies to do the project but won't have time to tackle the wiring for a few weeks. Before diving into it, I'd love to know what issues, if any, you are having with it or what you don't like about it. Maybe i'll save myself some frustration after learning about your experience...

That's right, I already built the project after and already fully working.
The reason why I want to know how the engine works has to do with the fact that someone in Belgium has also made the same system.
however, it does not use the entire BT module and controls the motor with 2 wires.
It only uses a remote control, I like a physical button. So I want this too, finally saves on the cost of dr stuff.
Furthermore, a few tips about the current system.
Glue the connectors to the female connector with hot glue so that they do not come loose easily.
You could place the switch in the panel near your USB / AUX port. I did that too.
If you want a switch with a light, keep in mind that there are 2 possibilities.
1: lamp off with valve open.
lights on with the valve closed.
2: light continuously on less or less valve closed.
light on continuously but brighter with the flap open.
If you want the light to turn on when you open the valve, you will have to take a switch with a 6-pin connection.
You can also use a 2 pole switch without a light. then you don't need the minus wire.
good luck in any case.!
