I recently purchased a 2016 Cooper convertible. After its first car wash, I noticed these two funky tabs in my door surround. They seem oddly placed and don’t sit flush. There’s no matching tab on the door, and the tabs are not present on the passenger side. Any ideas why they are there?
Also, Below the tire info sticker there’s some residue from a sticker that has been removed — wondering if I’m missing a factory sticker?
The black grommet? if so it looks like someone drilled a hole to stick a rod through t do a paintless dent repair (PDR) - they should have gone in through the rear light opening (light removed) or from under wheel arch
Interesting! I though it might have been about eliminating door movement rubbing off paint (I've seen this discussed in other posts), but repair work makes perfect sense. Thank you!
