I recently bought a 2015 Mini that was ordered with the Fully Loaded package, which includes the center armrest/storage area. My wife also has a 2015 Mini with the center armrest. Mine, however, has an insert in it, while hers does not. Consequently, hers has more room inside. What is the purpose of the insert in mine, and how does it work? Is this meant to be a phone holder? If so, it is too small for my Galaxy J7. There's an icon to press a latch, which removes a part that looks like a cover. See attached pictures before removing the cover and after.
