Check engine light question?

Does anybody who has the JCW pro exhaust, turn the car on first without starting the engine so you can open the flap and then start the car? When i do this, before starting the engine my check engine (emissions) light will come on and stay on tell I start the car. Is this normal? Does happen to people without JCW pro too?

Thanks

It comes on before you start it them goes off after? If that's the case I would not worry about it at all.

Thats not what I'm talking about, it does that too.

I press the start/stop button without putting my foot on the brake, electronics turn on but not the engine. At this time my check engine light will stay on tell i either start the engine or turn off the electronics. ( just the check engine/emissions light)

100% normal. If you hit the toggle with no brake, it will put it into accessory mode. It will also light up the check engine light until you either turn off the car or start the engine.
Just checked it on my car just to know I'm giving you 100% accurate information.
